Epona Yoga Facilitators do not simply attend a 6 day course with 20 hours practicum. Their training is ongoing with a continuing evolving process that does not end. Becoming a facilitator is a process that will require one on one with mentoring as well as group work with other facilitators with whom you will evolve and learn, sharing our thoughts, our learning and any new awareness’s.
The re certification process every year, is where our facilitators dedicate approx 2 days and a cost of about $200. The license fee is renewable at this time. Renewal keeps your insurance activated and entitles you to access to all our resources. Not renewing means the facilitator is no longer able to use the Epona Facilitators Program and their insurance cover will lapse.
A certificate will be issued by Epona Yoga which is current for one year only. IICT – International Institute of Complimentary Therapies will accept this certification. Upon which insurance can thus be applied for.
The six day course is only available to Facilitators who are committed to the entire Epona Yoga program. This ensures that Epona Yoga is offered at the highest standard to children.
Our facilitators are strongly committed to their own evolvement as well as to the children that have been entrusted to them – whether that be their own, their class etc. The meaning of yoga translated means to join or unite – Unite mind body and spirit. To not honour this would not honour the core of what the program is about.
Questions?
Why is Day 1 and 2 all about spiritual stuff and not just focused on kids?
Yoga is a Sanskrit word meaning to join, some would say to unite mind body and spirit.
Epona Yoga's creator Debra Mc Cormick believes that when we are working with anyone especially children we need to be aware of who we are and our own beliefs – limiting or non limiting. In understanding ourselves we open up to understanding and having compassion for others.
Working with children requires us to relinquish all control – in the sense that almost rarely will a class go 100% according to plan. Children will find a way at being able to push our buttons. Day 1 and 2 help us get in touch with who we are. How we want to be.
Why do Epona Yoga Facilitators need to pay a license fee?
Paying the licensing fee enables us to issue a certificate stating you have completed the training and thus can be insured. It also provides facilitators with access to the above benefits.
We are increasing in media coverage and you will be included in all of this.
What type of yoga is the Epona Yoga Program based on?
Hatha Yoga
Is children's Yoga different to Adult?
Yes it is. Children's yoga is taught in a way that is fun and creative. While we use the yoga poses adults do we tend to rename them into animals names or other names that children can relate to.
In doing this it allows for the children to experience yoga without being caught up in hard to say names.
In each class we still do Asana's (poses), Breath work (pranayama) and a Meditation - most of all whatever we do we make sure it is FUN!!!!!
Who can Become an Epona Yoga Facilitator?
