Sunni's Seedlings

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Sunni was very sad someone had trampled all over his little seedlings. He didn't know if they would grow at all anymore. They were squashed and trampled into the earth.

Sunni's face was so sad that Mr Sun asked him "what's wrong Sunni you look very sad".

"I am, my seedlings have all been trampled and I don't know if they will grow anymore" he replied.

"Perhaps I can help with a special kiss of sunshine after you give them a special water" replied Mr Sun.

"That might help" said Sunni.

"You could even get some seaweed from Tula's beach and put it on the garden bed and that will really help them grow." said Mr Sun.

"What a great idea said Sunni, I'll get some now, and when I come back you can please give my seedlings a special kiss of sunshine to help them?" Sunni asked in a pleading  voice.

"Of course I will Sunni" said Mr Sun.

So off went Sunni to collect the seaweed at Tula's beach. When he arrived he told Tula what had happened so she helped him gather some seaweed and carry it back to his garden. They spread it out together and then watered the seedlings carefully.

"Mr Sun we are ready, can you please give my seedlings a special kiss of sunshine to help them grow" called Sunni.

Mr Sun reached down with a special ray of sun that left a faint rainbow over the seedlings for the rest of the day.

"Thank you so much Mr Sun I will check them in the morning and I am sure they will grow with the extra help we have given them now! Thank you too Tula for all your help" said Sunni.

"That's all right Sunni I was happy to help, but I'd better get back to the water now as I am getting very dry." said Tula as she waved and left the park.

Sunni's Day Out

Thursday, January 28, 2010

Sunni had been looking forward to Friday all week because he was planing a big day out. Sunni was going down to the seaside to see his good friend Tula the turtle.

They had planned the day a week ago and knew just what they were going to do. Sunni was going to take a swim with Tula and then refresh himself in the clear stream and then they were planning on building sand castles.

Finally Friday came and Sunni got up and gathered his towel, sunscreen and hat and headed off to the seaside. He skipped along happily eager to see Tula and to take a dip in the sea.

When Sunni arrived at the beach he couldn't see Tula anywhere. But he did see a bucket and spade, a picnic rug and a big picnic basket full of yummy treats.

"Tula, where are you?" Sunni called. But Tula didn't answer.

"Tula, where are you?" Sunni called once more. But Tula still didn't answer.

"Tula, I'm coming to find you" Sunni called. Tula didn't answer but Sunni thought he heard a giggle.

Sunni dropped his things on teh picnic blanket and started to search the shore when from behind him he was splashed. Sunni turned around to see Tula Floating in the sea with a twinkle in her eye.

"Tula, were you hiding from me?" asked Sunni.

"Yes" replied Tula, "I was palying a trick on you and it was fun to see you searching under the palms and around the shore for me when I was hiding in the sea."

"It was funny" said Sunni. "I might come in and join you" he said. So Sunni put his sunscreen on and waded out into the water where he played with Tula chasing baby jellyfish and splashing around.

later when they were tired Sunni refreshed himself in the clear stream and they lay on the picninc blanket and ate the treats inside the basket.

"Oh I am full" said Suni.

"Me too" said Tula. "I think I need a big stretch!" So Tula sat down and stretched in a seated forward bend. "Come on Sunni you can do this too" she said.

"You do it like this "first you sit with you legs out in front then you stretch them to the sides, then you sit up as tall as you can, and bend forward from you hips, sliding you hands straight out forward on the ground in front of you, see doesn't that feel great" said Tula as Sunni got himself into Tula's stretch.

"Yes it does, but I think I am too tired to make sandcastles today so we will have to do it another day, it is late and I should get home" said Sunni.

"OK, we'll do the sandcastles next time" said Tula.

"Bye, Bye" they both said as Sunni left the seaside and headed home to the park.

Spring has Sprung

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Sunni was very excited the night before his seedlings had been in bud and were about to bloom. He decided to have a picnic for all his friends in his garden. He called to Mali and she raced around and got Rafferty and Tula to come so that Sunni could prepare.

He spread a checked cloth on the ground in the middle of the blooming seedlings and put lovely picnic treat out for everyone to enjoy.

They all had a lovely day in the middle of the flowers and Sunni was very happy to spend the day with his friends.

A Trip to the Seaside

Friday, May 22, 2009

"Hey Tula... Hello" Shouted Sunni as he left the path and walked down onto the beach.

"Hi Sunni, I've been waiting for you all to come and visit me together! you're the first one here" said Tula!

"It will be fun to see everyone together" said Sunni. "I want to learn some new Epona Yoga Moves too" he said.

"Oh yes that would be great, I can show you one of mine while we wait for the others" said Tula.

"Yes please" said Sunni.

So Tula showed Sunni how to do a seated side bend.

First she sat down on the beach, and stretched her legs into a straddle position, then she stretched her back to make her feel nice and tall. Then Tula lifted her arms up towards the Sun and then stretched down to one side reaching with her hand towards her foot. Sunni did ti with her and then they did the same with the opposite leg.

The Epona Yoga poses are detailed in the Epona Yoga Adventures of Sunni, Tula, Mali and Rafferty book with complete instructions and the benefits of each pose.  Each pose is illustrated on teh Epona Yoga mat for easy reference. You can buy the mat, book and DVD online.
