Mali makes for the forest...

Thursday, May 28, 2009

After spending a night at the beach with Tula Mali decided to go back to the forest where she could swing through the trees....

"Goodbye Tula" she said. "Bye Mali, I'll come and see you soon" said Tula.

Mali left the beach and went up the path to the park. She saw Sunni who was doing his Yoga and waved. "Hi Sunni That looks like fun" said Mali as she copied Sunni so that they were both kneeling in the Cat Flex pose. They were on their hands and knees with their backs arched up to the sky.

"Oh that does feel good" said Mali "what else can you do?"

Sunni showed mali how he could slide his knees back and lie flat on the ground with his elbows up in the air and his hands on the ground. and lifted his head up slowly rolling up one vertibre at a time. And then rolling back and as he breathed out Sunni made a sound like a snake "SSSSS".

Mali Copied Sunni and they lay there on the ground pretending to be snakes for quite a while. Mali was getting restless and said "I should go Sunni, I will be missed in the forest if I don't get back soon"

"Bye then Mali" said Sunni as Mali skipped away towards her home.

"Hey, you guys have started without me" exclaimed Mali as she skittered down the path to the seaside. She could see Tula and Sunni doing a seated side bend. I can do that too you know and she quickly sat down and showed Sunni and Mali how well she could do the pose.

"I learned this from teh Epona Yoga DVD" said Mali.

Just then Rafferty arrived....

Mali Visits Sunni

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Mali was swinging through the trees and headed towards the park. Mali wanted to catch up with his friend Sunni.

Sunni was sitting under the biggest  tree in the park when Mali saw him. Mali skipped over to the tree and said "Hello Sunni!"

Hi Mali" replied Sunni, "What have you been up to?" he asked.

"I've been swinging in the trees and doing some balancing things" replied Mali.

"What balancing things?" asked Sunni.

"I'll show you" said Mali. Mali then stood very carefully on one leg and put both hands on the ground lifting his other leg high into the air. Mali's back was very straight and she tucked her head between her arms. Mali giggled and said "it's called the Donkey pose".

Sunni thought it looked fun and tried it too....

Sunni and Mali sat and talked about alot of things and they decided that they would take a trip to the beach to see Tula later in the week.

Fun In The Forest with Mali

Thursday, May 07, 2009

Mali likes to have fun in the forest where she lives, sometimes she hands upside down by her tail and swings in the trees other times she plays on the ground. Mr Sun was peaking through the trees to see Mali as she stretched into what seemed the most unlikely of poses. Mali was making herself into a tree. To do this Mali started off with her feet together and then she slide her right foot up onto the inside of her left knee, then she carefully raised her hands above her head and placed her palms together.... "Mali makes a great tree, thought Mr Sun" he wondered would you like to try being a tree with Mali?"

You can learn the tree pose with the Epona Yoga DVD, Mat and Book.

Check back to Mali's blog another time to see how she can do lots of other yoga positions.

Mali's Been Hanging Around!

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

As Mr Sun peaked through the trees in the forest he saw Mali uncurled from her spot in the fork of the tree and hooked her tail around the biggest branch and let herself swing under the branch.

“That looks like a lot of fun Mali” said Mr Sun.

It is replied Mali who swung harder and harder and then let go of the branch landing on the forest floor in a lovely Monkey Squat pose. Mali had her feet apart with her knees bent and her hands held together in front of her body. “You must be sad because you can’t swing through the trees like me Mr Sun” said Mali.
